New Domination Index Released - Interesting Stat
Like every other Tuesday, EDSFootball.com released its Domination Index today.
The Domination Index ranks all 32 teams based on statistical differential categories and gives points similar to how rotisserie-scoring fantasy leagues works. For example, the team with the highest scoring margin gets 32 points, the team with the 2nd highest scoring margin gets 31 points, etc.
In our Week 12 Domination Index, it was no surprise that the New York Giants ranked as the "most dominant" team in the league. They have topped the list 7 weeks and every week since week 9.
Currently, they have a score of 218.0, which ties the highest total for the season. They also reached this total in week 5. Right now, they are 24.5 points more dominant than the 2nd most dominant team in the league. That is the largest gap between 1st and 2nd this season.
One of the stats (scoring margin in games lost) is interesting. There are only 3 teams to not have lost a game by double digits so far this season: Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and San Diego. In fact, the Bucs have the lowest scoring margin in losses (11) on the season. They lost by 4 at New Orleans, by 3 at Denver and by 4 at Dallas.
