Bengals LB Keith Rivers looking for big 2009

Cincinnati Bengals rookie LB Keith Rivers had his season cut short when Steelers WR Hines Ward, the best blocking WR in the NFL, broke Rivers' jaw. (Click here to see Hines Ward block on Bart Scott.)

Rivers, who was selected 9th overall by the Bengals last year, expects to have a big year in 2009.
"I was disappointed about the injury. There were some goals that I was hoping to achieve that got dashed," Rivers said. "The good thing was I was able to get better each week. My first game was awful, and I missed a couple tackles. But after that, I think I missed only one or two tackles the rest of the season."
The Bengals defense actually played well this year finishing 12th in overall defense (325.5 ypg allowed). However, they finished tied with the Browns for 30th in sacks (17). Only the Chiefs had fewer (10).
