Agent says Jason Taylor will be back with 'Skins
Washington Redskins DE Jason Taylor will return to the Redskins this season for the last year of his contract. Taylor, who is due a salary of $8.5 million, was acquired from Miami for a 2nd-round draft pick this year and a 6th-round pick in 2010.
The Redskins traded for Taylor on the day DE Phillip Daniels suffered a season-ending injury. However, Taylor was slowed by injuries himself.
Taylor has 120.5 career sacks in his 12-year career and won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2006.
It wasn't only injuries that slowed Taylor though. Switching to a 4-3 scheme that emphasizes stopping the run and that did not give Taylor much flexibility hurt as well.
The Redskins are expected to give him more freedom in 2009.

"It's tough to play when you're injured, when you can't do the things you always have, and Jason was just dealing with a lot last year," said Taylor's agent, Gary Wichard. "But it is what it is. That's just part of this game, and Jason never made excuses. He's working to be the same Pro Bowler he always was, and he's ready to go."Last season, Taylor had only 3.5 sacks, which was the 2nd-lowest of his career. He had 2.5 sacks in 1999.
