Raiders release Wilson, Curry and Edwards

Last off-season, the Raiders spent like drunken sailors and their free-agent signees (Tommy Kelly, Javon Walker, etc.) received deals well beyond their worth. Yesterday the Raiders have released safety Gibril Wilson, one of the free agents they added last off-season.

The Raiders have also released WR Ronald Curry and DE Kalimba Edwards.

Wilson was 2nd on the team in tackles (134) behind LB Kirk Morrison. He also had 1.5 sacks and 2 interceptions.

Curry had a disappointing season (19 catches for 181 yards) after having back-to-back 700-yard seasons. Edwards had 48 tackles and 5 sacks in 2008.
