Rams sign Jason Brown to 5-year contract

The St. Louis Rams signed center/guard Jason Brown to a 5-year contract worth $37.5 million. Of that, $20 million is guaranteed.
"We stressed even during the season about getting bigger on the offensive line, more physical, and he fits everything," Rams GM Billy Devaney said. "(Jason's) smart, big, young, and of strong character. The arrow's still going up on him — an ascending player."
Brown was drafted in the 4th round in the 2005 NFL draft by the Ravens and has started 49 games for them. His first 30 starts were at guard and his past 19 starts were at center.

With Brown and perhaps either Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe (both tackles) with the #2 overall pick in this year's draft, the Rams will significantly upgrade their offensive line this off-season.
