Vikings, Texans close to deal on Sage Rosenfels

Per the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans are close to a deal to ship backup QB Sage Rosenfels to the Minnesota Vikings in return for a 4th-round draft pick.

The Vikings are a QB away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender. The Vikings already have the league's best RB in Adrian Peterson and one of the league's best defenses.

I'm not sure Rosenfels is the answer to the Vikings' QB problems. Their existing QBs (Gus Frerotte and Tarvaris Jackson) would have pushed each other in camp. Adding a third QB that isn't much better or worse than the other two doesn't add much value in my opinion.

Rosenfels, who played 6 games, threw for 1431 yards, 6 TDs and 10 INTs in 2008. And who could forget the "Helicopter" in the 4th quarter of the Colts game in which the Texans blew a 17-point lead?
