Dan Orlovsky signs with Houston

QB Dan Orlovsky entered free agency to pursue a better offer than what the Detroit Lions had given to him. Orlovsky, who started 7 games for the Lions in 2008, wanted an opportunity to start even though the Lions said there would be an open competition.

Apparently, the "better opportunity" that Orlovsky was sure to find is in Houston backing up QB Matt Schaub.

Orlovsky's claim-to-fame was his bonehead move sprinting outside of the endzone for a safety in the Lions' 12-10 loss to the Vikings. The QB he'll replace as the back-up is Sage Rosenfels, who was traded to Minnesota for a 4th-round draft pick.

Rosenfels single-handedly lost the Texans a game against the Colts with his assortment of 4th-quarter turnovers including "The Helicopter."
