Jags sign LT Tra Thomas

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free-agent LT Tra Thomas, who spent the past 11 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Does the 34-year-old have another 9 years to play?
"I have several years left in the tank," Thomas said. "I take good care of myself. I'm always in the weight room training. ... I put in a goal to play 20 years, so I want to come in and play as long as I possibly can. I feel like if I continue to take care of myself it can definitely happen."
Thomas, who was selected by the Eagles with the 11th overall pick in 1996, has missed only 8 games in his 11 seasons.

The Jaguars GM Gene Smith expects Thomas to start at LT to replace Khalif Barnes, who is now a free agent. However, Smith didn't rule out the possibility of the Jags signing a tackle in the draft with the 8th overall pick.
