Larry Johnson gets 2 years probation, has grievance hearing

Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson was sentenced to two years of probation as a result of two separate nightclub incidents involving women.

In both cases, Johnson, who wants out of Kansas City, faced charges of assualt, which were reduced to disturbing the peace.

If Johnson doesn't violate his probation, the guilty plea will be removed from his record. In order to satisfy the terms of his probation, LJ cannot consume alcohol or be present in any Kansas City bars or nightclubs after 9 p.m.

The first incident involved Johnson shoving a woman in the head. In the second incident, Johnson was accused of spitting a drink in the face of a different woman. After the second incident, Johnson was suspended for one game by the NFL.

Per Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs and LJ have a grievance hearing set for Wednesday in a dispute over $3.75 million of guaranteed money.

The Chiefs say that LJ's one-game suspension last year is a breach of his contract and they don't have to pay him the $3.5 million payment this year and $250,000 payment next year.

LJ's agent says that he will participate in the Chiefs' off-season workout program, which begins Monday. However, his participation may be short-lived.

According to the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs will likely release Johnson if they win the grievance hearing.
