Niners add Marvel Smith, cut Jonas Jennings
The San Francisco 49ers have signed tackle Marvel Smith to a two-year contract worth $10.5 million.
To make room for Smith, the Niners cut tackle Jonas Jennings. In his four seasons with the Niners, Jennings started only 23 (out of a possible 64) games.
The addition of Smith provides greater flexibility in the draft for the 49ers.
