Niners sign WR Brandon Jones
The San Francisco 49ers have added free-agent WR Brandon Jones, who spent the past 4 seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Jones and the Niners agreed on a 5-year, $16.5 million contract with $5.4 million guaranteed.
According to SI.com, 49ers GM Scott McCloughan says that Isaac Bruce, the team's leading WR last year, is "50-50" on returning. Bruce is contemplating retirement after the 49ers changed offensive coordinators in the off-season.
The 49ers replaced Mike Martz with Jimmy Raye, who will lead a run-heavy 49ers offense.
The other WRs on the 49ers roster include Josh Morgan, Jason Hill, Dominique Zeigler and Arnaz Battle.
In 2008, Jones finished 3rd on the Titans in receptions (41) and receiving yards (449).
