Patriots re-sign safety James Sanders

The New England Patriots have re-signed safety James Sanders to a 3-year contract. He reportedly turn down more money elsewhere to stay in New England.
"It gives him a chance to grow and become a playmaker," [Sanders' agent Steve] Feldman said. "He stays in the same system with a championship team. They know him. He knows them. It was the right fit."
Sanders, projected to start alongside safety Brandon Merriweather, had 66 tackles and 1 interception in 2008. Sanders was drafted by the Patriots in the 4th-round of the 2005 NFL draft.
