Ravens, Carr agree to 2-year deal
The Baltimore Ravens are expected to release CB Samari Rolle on Monday. On the same day, the Ravens will sign CB Chris Carr to a 2-year contract worth $5 million after he takes (and assuming passes) his physical.
Carr, who was undrafted out of Boise State, could compete with Frank Walker for the nickel back role. In addition, he could assume return responsibilities. Carr was 4th in the NFL in kick returns and 12th in punt returns.
Without Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle or Corey Ivy on the roster in 2009, Fabian Washington and free-agent signee Dominique Foxworth will start at cornerback.
In four NFL seasons (first three in Oakland and last year in Tennessee), Carr has 87 career tackles and 2 career interceptions.
