Tony Gonzalez still wants a trade?
Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said that the team was not going to trade its future Hall of Fame TE Tony Gonzalez. But a source told AP, via National Football Post, that Hunt's statement surprised Gonzalez.
For his career, he has 916 receptions and 10940 yards. His 916 receptions ranks ninth all-time and first among tight ends in NFL history.
“If the right deal can be made, Tony very much wants the Chiefs to trade him,” the person said. “Tony is not demanding a trade. Tony cherishes the time he’s spent with the Chiefs and he loves the way he’s always been treated by the fans there. But he knows of some other teams that would be interested in him and if the right deal can be made, he wants it to be made.”Gonzalez, who is a 13-year veteran, led the Chiefs in receptions (96) and receiving yards (1058) in 2008.
