Bengals cut Kenny Perry, Levi Jones likely to be next
Per Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Cincinnati Bengals have released RB Kenny Perry, the Bengals' first-round pick in 2004 out of Michigan.
The Bengals currently have running backs Cedric Benson and Kenny Watson on the roster from last year. And they drafted Bernard Scott out of Abilene Christian yesterday in the sixth round.
In his five seasons with the team since being drafted, Perry has played in only 35 games and missed all of the 2007 season.
Last year, Perry rushed for 269 yards on 104 carries (2.6 yards per carry). He scored two touchdowns and lost three of his five fumbles.
In addition to cutting Perry, the next victim is likely to be tackle Levi Jones.

“Prior to the owner’s meeting the team said he was going to be traded before or during the draft and if nothing happened there they would release him,” [Jones' agent Kenneth] Zuckerman said. “It wasn’t us asking this. Levi isn’t asking for this. This is all brought up by them.”Jones, who started at left tackle for the past seven seasons, will be replaced by the Bengals' first-round pick (Andre Smith from Alabama).
