Indiana kicks Kellen Lewis off team

The Indiana Hoosiers have kicked wide receiver Kellen Lewis off the team for violating (unspecified) team rules.
"We are disappointed to have to make this decision," [Coach Bill] Lynch said in a prepared statement. "When you have expectations of those on your team that are not met, you need to do what is ultimately in the overall best interest of your program."

"Today's action underscores that no individual student-athlete, regardless of talent or popularity, is above the expectations of Indiana University," [Athletic Director Fred] Glass said in a statement.
Lewis, who made the switch from QB to WR this spring, holds the Indiana record in touchdown passes (48). Lewis was second-team All-Big Ten in 2007.
