Steelers, Ward agree to extension

Per John Clayton of ESPN, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Hines Ward have agreed to a four-year extension worth $22 million.

Instead of becoming a free agent after this season, Ward is now under contract until 2013 and will finish his career in Pittsburgh.

Ward, who's arguably the best blocking WR in the NFL, ranks 22nd all-time in receptions (800) and 34th all-time in receiving yards (9780).

He was MVP of Super Bowl XL.
