Sweet sixteen for Isaac Bruce
Isaac Bruce, who led the San Francisco 49ers in receiving last year, will return for his 16th season in the NFL.
49ers coach Mike Singletary had asked Bruce to let the team know his status by April 1st. Bruce will earn a salary of $1.475 million and count $2 million towards the Niners' salary cap.
Bruce ranks fifth all-time in receptions (1,003) and second all-time in receiving yards (14,944). Bruce, who was drafted in the second round by the Rams in 1994, spent his entire career as part of the Greatest Show on Turf until last year.
His partner-in-crime in St. Louis, Torry Holt, has been released by the Rams.
In the off-season, the 49ers signed Brandon Jones from the Titans. Other potential starters at WR include Josh Morgan, Jason Hill, Arnaz Battle and Dominique Zeigler.
