Titans to add QB Ramsey

Per Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, the Titans have agreed to terms with QB Patrick Ramsey today.

According to Wyatt, Ramsey, a first-round pick by the Redskins in 2002, is expected to compete with Vince Young, a first-round pick by the Titans in 2006, to back up Kerry Collins.

Chris Simms, who was a back-up for the Titans last year, left via free agency and signed with the Broncos. With Jay Cutler being traded to the Bears for Kyle Orton and draft picks, Simms will compete with Orton for an opportunity to start in Denver.

For the past two seasons, Ramsey was a back-up in Denver and appeared in only three games. Over his career, however, Ramsey has started 24 games for the Redskins and Jets.

Young's expected "competition" with Ramsey for back-up is just another reminder of how far Young has fallen since winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award in his rookie season.
