Bears not interested in Toomer, should target Boldin?
It's a case of he said, nobody said.
Steve Wyche of the NFL Network said that the Bears placed a call to free-agent receiver Amani Toomer while a source tells Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune that isn't so.
Even though McClure's source says that the Bears didn't place a call to Toomer, Toomer's representation has reached out to teams around the league including the Bears.
McClure suggests that the Bears should get into the "Anquan Boldin sweepstakes" as agent Drew Rosenhaus has tweeted (or twittered or whatever verb you use to describe it) that Anquan is still available.
In the draft, the Bears selected three receivers in this year's draft - Oklahoma's Juaquin Iglesias in the third round, Abilene Christian's Johnny Knox in the fifth round and Pittsburgh's Derek Kinder in the seventh round.
