Bears sign Michael Gaines to one-year contract

Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears have signed tight end Michael Gaines to a one-year contract.
"I'll be back in there at Halas Hall tomorrow morning,'' Gaines said on his way back to his home in Detroit. "Honestly, I can't believe it happened. It's just a privilege to be joining an organization with so much history."
Although he signed a four-year contract last year with the Lions, Gaines was released by the Detroit Lions this off-season.

In 2008, Gaines had 23 receptions for 260 yards and one touchdown.
