Blaine Dalton says he did nothing wrong

Freshman quarterback Blaine Dalton was indefinitely suspended from the Missouri football team after being arrested Thursday night.

He faces a felony possession of a controlled substance, minor in possession of alcohol, possession of false identification and three traffic charges (failure to drive on the right side of the road, no proof of insurance and possession of false identification).

Perhaps, not surprisingly, Dalton claims that he "didn’t do anything wrong" per the Kansas City Star.
“I had a bottle of pills. They were my friend’s, and he left them in my car. I wasn’t taking the pills or anything like that.”

“There was an unopened beer in the car, but we weren’t drinking,” Dalton said. “A single beer. There was one.”
If Dalton issued a statement along the lines of he's looking forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court and that he regrets being in the situation he's in (without the admission of guilt), that would have been fine.

However, if Dalton's going to use the "I-was-holding-it-for-a-friend" excuse, my unsolicited advice is to just shut up.
