Browns sign Rod Hood
The Cleveland Browns have signed free-agent cornerback Rod Hood to a one-year contract, according to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.
Last month, Hood was released by the Cardinals in a salary-cap move.
Hood, who was undrafted out of Auburn, spent his first four seasons in Philadelphia. He started for the Arizona Cardinals the past two seasons.
Last year's starters in Cleveland were Eric Wright and Brandon McDonald. In addition, the Browns added Hank Poteat and Corey Ivy via free agency and drafted Don Carey and Coye Francies this off-season.
Hood had his best season in 2007 when he had 57 tackles and five interceptions. He returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns.
