Cribbs to report Tuesday
Cleveland Browns returner/receiver Josh Cribbs did not show for voluntary practices last week. In fact, he said that without "substantial talks" to restructure his contract, he wasn't going to show and he would request a trade.
Cribbs has four years remaining on his contract, but he is looking for a similar deal to what Chicago's Devin Hester received. Hester received a four-year, $40 million contract from the Bears last off-season.
Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, however, Cribbs will report for this week's camp.
"Josh Cribbs will report to practice on Tuesday," [Cribbs' agent J.R.] Rickert said in the text. "He is making this good-faith effort to show everyone just how important this is to him. We will continue to communicate with the Browns on a regular basis and we are optimistic that there will be a fair solution."
In addition to his return and receiving duties, the Browns are going to work Cribbs out at safety and he could be the team's nickel back in 2009.
