Kentucky's Jarmon ineligible for senior season

Kentucky senior defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, who failed an NCAA drug test in February, will be ineligible for his senior season after the NCAA denied his appeal.

Jarmon says that he failed the drug test after taking some supplements he purchased from a nutrition store. He took the supplement for 15 days before realizing that it contained a banned substance.
"My first concern is with Jeremy and his family and what a devastating blow this is for them," [Kentucky coach Rich] Brooks said. "There was no intent by Jeremy to do anything improper, it was an error in judgment in not checking with our staff [before taking the supplement]. Jeremy has been an outstanding individual on and off the football field, and I hope that people understand the class act he has has been."
Hopefully Jarmon, who has already graduated with a degree in political science, will be luckier with the NFL supplemental draft than he was with the supplemental miscue.
