NFL considering second London game next year?

Is NFL commissioner Roger Goodell pulling a Brett Favre?

London has hosted one NFL game in each of the past two seasons and will host one in 2009. On October 25th, the New England Patriots will be "hosted" by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London.

This once-a-year event has been met with success from a ticket-selling perspective and the NFL will discuss a second game to be played in London (or another U.K. location).
"The fan reaction we've had in London has been extraordinary. We would like to feed that passion," Goodell said after speaking at the Charlotte Touchdown Club. "We have a great fan base in the UK. There have been discussions of taking the second game and playing it in another market in the UK. That's something that we'll evaluate."
Goodell claims that the NFL is not considering moving the Super Bowl to London.

However, the Telegraph, a U.K. paper, quoted the commercial director of Wembley Stadium (venue for the last two London NFL games as well as this year's game) as saying: "We will do everything we can to work with the NFL and help bring this amazing event to London."

Despite his denials "at this time" a la Favre, Goodell seems to be setting the stage for a future Super Bowl in the U.K.

For me, it doesn't really matter where the Super Bowl is played since I won't be there in person anyways.

But with the amount of parity in the NFL, it's tough for the "home" team that loses one of their 8 home games in the regular season.

Will there be more Bucs fans or Pats fans in Lomdon? My guess is pats fans. So New "England" is essentially getting 9 home games in 2009.

Games should be played in the US only.
