Ricky Williams, 2 more years to retirement?

Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is going to retire. After two more seasons, that is.
''When you get older,'' he said, "you appreciate humdrum. I will be 32 on Thursday. Life was almost more fun when it was in flux. But there's more stability now, and it's easier. There's always temptations, but they're fleeting thoughts. I have a better idea what I want to do with my life now. To me, that's a better life. I'm in a good place.''
After retirement, Williams plans to finish the credits (60) he needs for a pre-med degree and focus on a career in osteopathic medicine.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Ricky Williams, D.O. (osteopaths use D.O. instead of M.D.) prescribes a patient marijuana for medicinal purposes. Could he (or the patient) possibly keep a straight face?

In the meantime, Williams says he has never been this happy playing football.
''This is the happiest I've been playing football in a while,'' he said. `` Ronnie Brown has a lot to do with it. . . . So does Bill [ Parcells]. Bill and I are happy to be with each other -- he likes the way I work, that I'm a student of the game. He likes my story. I found a place where I fit, a place I feel proud to call home.''
Last season, Williams rushed for 659 yards and four touchdowns and caught 29 passes for 219 yards and one touchdown.
