Schwartz to use Cherilus downhill more

Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz plans to use second-year right tackle Gosder Cherilus "downhill a little bit more" to take advantage of his size (6-foot-7, 319 pounds).

Cherilus, the Lions first-round pick last year, says that is what he did at Boston College.
"That's the way we ran in college; there's not much thinking," said the Boston College product. "It's like (just) executing against that other guy, and just go out and throw him as hard as you can. You know the guy with the bigger will, the tougher guy, will win, which is like my kind of football."
The Lions finished 30th in the NFL in rushing (83.3 yards per game) last year.
