Super Bowl coming to New Orleans in 2013
Today the NFL announced that the 2013 Super Bowl will be played at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
The 2011 Super Bowl will be played at the new Texas Stadium and the 2012 Super Bowl will be played in Indianapolis.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, who was disappointed and believes Miami should be the "permanent" location of the Super Bowl, says South Florida will start working on their bid for the 2014 Super Bowl. Others expected to bid are Tampa and London.
The 2013 home of the Pro Bowl has yet to be determined. It will be played in Miami in 2010 and in Hawaii in 2011 and 2012.
"We're just thrilled about what's going on," Saints owner Tom Benson said. "We're getting a new Superdome. Now we're going to get a Super Bowl on top of that. It couldn't be any more exciting than that."New Orleans beat out Miami, who will host the 2010 Super Bowl, and Glendale (AZ), who hosted the 2009 Super Bowl as the other two finalists.
