Walt Harris could miss 2009 season after tearing ACL
According to FoxSports.com, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Walt Harris could miss the entire 2009 NFL season. Harris, who will need surgery, has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat says it is highly unlikely that Harris will return in 2009 although the Niners didn't rule it out. Harris is in the final year of his four-year contract with the team.
He suffered the injury at yesterday's practice in a collision with receiver Dominique Ziegler.
Harris, who will turn 35 years old in August, made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and has 35 career interceptions.
Tarell Brown, who was the team's nickel back, will likely start opposite Nate Clements while Harris is out.
