Plaxico intersted in the Bucs, Hasselbeck calls him a "disaster"
Before free-agent receiver Plaxico Burress had his court case adjourned until September 23rd, there were three teams reported to be interested in Burress - the Jets, Bucs and Bears.
Despite his agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeting that "I expected the interest level in Plex to heat up after today's development and it has," a few Jets' beat writers indicated that the Jets were cooling in their interest in Burress.
In addition, Bears coach Lovie Smith said today, among other things, that "I feel good about the receivers we have right now," according to Associated Press.
While Rosenhaus tweeted on Monday that "a new team called me today to express interest in Plex," the Jets and the Bears no longer appear interested. That leaves only the Bucs out of the original three teams believed to be interested.

So naturally, Burress has reached out to Buccaneer players including his former teammate Derrick Ward to express his interest in playing for Tampa Bay, according to Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times.
And the feelings are mutual as coach Raheem Morris says you "got to have some sort of interest" when you have the "chance to add a great player to your team."
"He's a great player," Morris said. "Any time you get a chance to add a great player to your team, you definitely have got to have some sort of interest. We don't know what's going on with his legal problems, we don't know what's going on with the suspensions in the league. Until we get all that stuff resolved, it's not even worth talking about."
It's not surprising that Burress reached out to the Bucs as they may be his only real option. Of course, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will have say in what his true options are since he's likely to be suspended to start the season.
In addition, former Burress teammate Tim Hasselbeck issued a buyer beware statement on NFL Live about Burress.
Hasselbeck said: "When you're looking at Plaxico Burress, there's no doubt that he can be a dominant receiver at times on Sundays," Hasselbeck said. "We've seen it. But with that being said, I played with the guy. I was in the locker room with him for two years. He's a disaster as a teammate. He's a disaster as a guy that you have to coach."
So, Raheem, be careful what you wish for.
