NFL suspends Michael Boley for one game
The NFL has suspended Giants linebacker Michael Boley for one game without pay for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy, per Ralph Vacchiano of NY Daily News.
Last year, Boley was arrested and charged with one count of domestic battery, which is a misdemeanor, after he shoving his wife Chantelle into the wall and kitchen cabinets.
Although the incident happened last May, the case didn't conclude in the legal system until November. Therefore, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell didn't begin reviewing the case until December.
Boley, who had a career-high 110 tackles two seasons ago, underwent surgery last week to repair a torn labrum in his hip and he's expected to need 8-10 weeks to recover.
Now Boley's status for the season opener is no longer in doubt.
