Derrick Brooks leaves Big Easy without contract
Former Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks, who worked out for the Saints today, left town without a contract, per Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Brooks, who was released by the Bucs in February, and linebacker Derek Smith worked out in the morning, but weren't at the afternoon practice.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Saints told Brooks that they will contact him after the first pre-season game. In addition to the Saints, the Raiders have shown some interest in Brooks.
In 2002, Brooks was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. He's made the Pro Bowl 11 times in his career including 2008 and was named First-team All-Pro six times.
