Bills cut Dominic Rhodes
In a surprising move, the Buffalo Bills have cut running back Dominic Rhodes, according to the Associated Press.
Marshawn Lynch, last year's starting running back, will begin the 2009 season serving a three-game suspension. Although Fred Jackson will start will Lynch is out, Rhodes was expected to be Jackson's back-up.
Without Rhodes on the roster and with Lynch suspended, the Bills have only Jackson and Xavier Omon on their roster as experienced running backs eligible to play against the Patriots on September 14th.
Rhodes, who was due to make $750,000 this year, had 538 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in 2008 for the Colts. He also caught 45 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns.
