Colts awaiting results of Freeney's MRI

The Colts are one of four AFC teams to start the season with a perfect 3-0 record despite battling several injuries so far this season.

In Sunday night's win over Arizona, the Colts were without four starters -- receiver Anthony Gonzalez, safety Bob Sanders, cornerback Kelvin Hayden and linebacker Gary Brackett. Now you can add All-Pro defensive end Dwight Freeney to the injured list.

Freeney, who left yesterday's game when he "felt something pop" in his quadricep, had an MRI today.

"The docs will report to us later this evening, so we'll know something then, but I don't think there will be anything definitive for quite a while," [Colts president Bill] Polian said (via the Associated Press) on his weekly radio show Monday night. "The positive side is that he basically said, 'I can walk, I can play.' The good news is I don't have any bad news."

While it appears likely that Freeney will miss Sunday's game against the Seahawks, it would be a devastating loss for the Colts' defense if Freeney misses an extended period of time.

Freeney, the Colts' first-round pick in 2002, has four sacks in three games this season.
