Jones-Drew to have MRI Friday
The Jaguars have made running back Maurice Jones-Drew the centerpiece of their offense in 2009 (and beyond). However, the MJD (as a starter) era will begin with him banged up.
Last night, Redskins cornerback Fred Smoot tackled him low and MJD left the game. While X-rays were negative, he's scheduled for an MRI today.
">He had a 'UFC shot' to the shin or lower leg and it's bruised," Del Rio said. "Maurice was a little frustrated by the hit and he wanted to get his hands on the guy, I can tell you that."
Although Jones-Drew was the back-up to Fred Taylor, he has more than 4,000 combined (rushing and receiving) yards and 40 touchdowns in his first three NFL seasons.
