Cowboys sign Ware to six-year extension

DeMarcus Ware will be a Dallas Cowboy until 2015.

Or, as Cowboys owner Jerry Jones puts it: "This is a Cowboy, for all practical purposes, for the rest of his days."

Ware and the Cowboys agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $78 million, of which $40 million is guaranteed.

"He's got all the things it takes and he utilizes them and he works hard at it," [Coach Wade] Phillips said. "He's only going to get better. I don't know if he's going to get more sacks than ever, but I mean he's just going to get better, because he works so hard at what he does."

Last year, Ware led the league in sacks with 20. For his career, Ware has 57.5 sacks in 70 games.

After struggling a bit early in the season, Ware has four sacks in the past two games despite having a stress fracture in his foot.
