Michael Floyd ahead of schedule on return
Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd, who broke his collarbone last month, may return sooner than expected, per ESPN.
He's participating in practice on a limited basis and could return as early as November 7th against Navy, according to a team spokesman. Initially, it was thought that he might return in time for a bowl game.
"Based off the results of that CAT scan they'll determine if and when we can get him back," [coach Charlie] Weis said. "Fingers crossed the earliest we can get him back is Pittsburgh."
The Irish play the Navy (11/7), Pittsburgh (11/14), UConn (11/21) and Stanford (11/28).
In three games, Floyd has 13 receptions for 358 yards and five touchdowns.
