DeMarcus Ware status unclear for Saturday
Cowboys All-World linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who left Sunday's game on a stretcher, may play Saturday against the Saints according to coach Wade Phillips, per CBSSports.com.
"He's actually a lot better today," coach Wade Phillips said Monday. "He's really in a day-to-day situation as far as where he's going to be, as far as being able to play. He took quite a hit but has really bounced back strong. That's encouraging for him and us."
However, last night ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Ware "won't play vs N.O."
In either case, this is the Cowboys' most important game of the season.
If they win out (including against the Eagles in week 17), they will win the NFC East. At a minimum, they need to have the same record as the Eagles over the next two games to control their own destiny when they face the Eagles (again).
Meanwhile, the Saints look to extend their winning streak to 14 games and this should be the team's biggest test to go 16-0. After the Cowboys, the Sainst play the Bucs and Panthers.
On the season, Ware has nine sacks and 51 tackles.
