Mora says Jones (not Forsett) top RB
I'm not the Seattle Seahawks head football coach, but maybe I should be as their current coach, Jim Mora, has it all wrong.
Mora says he's sticking with running back Julius Jones, who has missed the last two games with a bruised lung, as the team's starter.
"Julius is our starting running back," Mora said, per Danny O'Neill of The Seattle Times. "He's our starting running back. That's what he is."
"Justin's earned the right to carry the ball off of what he did at Arizona and what he did this week," Mora said. "So we're going to make sure he gets touches."
I suppose it doesn't really matter who "starts." When Jones was in Dallas, Marion Barber eventually got more carries than Jones as the "back-up."
If Forsett is getting a bigger workload than Jones despite being the back-up, it doesn't make a difference who starts.
But Forsett has scored four rushing touchdowns in the past three games. That's twice as many as Jones has in nine games.
Forsett has rushed for over 100 yards in two of his past three games. In the one game he did not (vs Minnesota), Forsett had 80 receiving yards.
Maybe Jones shouldn't lose his job due to injury. But he shouldn't keep it, on the other hand, for not being as good as the alternative (Forsett).
