MJD rushes for 80-plus yards for 14th time this season
Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew entered today as the NFL's leading rusher and extended his lead after today's 103-yard performance.
Jones-Drew finished today's game with 24 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown. Through 15 games, he has 318 carries for 1,437 yards, both career highs, and eight touchdowns.
In addition, he added six receptions for 21 yards and now has 42 receptions for 370 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
By rushing for 80-plus yards for the 14th time this season, Pocket Hercules did something that only four other running backs have done. The following running backs have rushed for 80-plus yards 14 times in a season (since 1960): Eric Dickerson (1984), Barry Sanders (1997), Corey Dillon (2004) and Chris Johnson (2009).
If MJD rushes for 80-plus yards against the Colts next week, he will be the only player to do so 15 times in one season. (The Colts rank 29th in the NFL against the run.)
