Poll of the Day: How many TDs will Philip Rivers throw vs. the Ravens?
San Diego's Philip Rivers has had one of the worst seasons of his career. In fact, he set his career high in interceptions this year back in Week 11 when he threw his 16th and 17th interceptions of the season.
In fact, many analysts have believed that Rivers must be playing with some sort of injury since he had been playing so poorly.
That said, it's December and, as one might expect based on historical results, Rivers is playing much better.
In both December games, Rivers has thrown three touchdowns and no interceptions. Going back to his last game in November, Rivers has thrown 97 passes with no interceptions in his past three games.
With Rivers turning things around and a full complement of healthy skill players, he faces his toughest challenge of the season as the Chargers face the Ravens, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. In addition, Baltimore has yet to allow more than one passing touchdown in any game this season.
But looking a little closer at the quarterbacks the Ravens have faced puts it into perspective. With the exception of Ben Roethlisberger (twice) and Matt Schaub, they have not faced any elite quarterbacks. The list includes guys like Matt Hasselbeck, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Dan Orlovsky, Kevin Kolb, Blaine Gabbert, Tarvaris Jackson, etc.
Will Rivers (and the Chargers' offense) keep rolling in December? Will the Ravens slow or stop him/them in his/their tracks?
