Lee Evans to sign one-year deal with Jaguars
Free-agent receiver Lee Evans will sign a one-year deal with the Jaguars on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Not only did Evans struggle to stay healthy last year, he struggled to make an impact when he did play.
In nine regular-season games, Evans had four receptions for 74 yards. In two postseason games, Evans had four receptions for 69 yards, but he dropped a go-ahead touchdown reception in the AFC Championship Game.
With arguably the league's worst receiving corps (and quarterback), the Jaguars' leading receiver in 2011 was tight end Marcedes Lewis, who led the team with 460 receiving yards. Mike Thomas led wideouts in receiving yards (415).
Earlier this offseason, the Jaguars signed Laurent Robinson to a five-year deal.
