Danny Amendola and Patriots agree to 5-year deal
In his six seasons with the Patriots, slot receiver Wes Welker hauled in 110-plus receptions five times, which is three more of those seasons than any player in NFL history has.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Amendola and the Patriots agreed to a five-year deal worth $31 million, of which $10 million is guaranteed.
In his four seasons with the Rams, Amendola set full-season career highs back in 2010 with 85 receptions for 689 yards and three touchdowns. If he hadn't missed five games last season, however, Amendola would have surpassed those numbers.
Amendola averaged a career-high 60.1 yards per game and 10.6 yards per reception last year. In Week 2, he tied the NFL record for more receptions (12) in a half.
Especially in point-per-reception (PPR) leagues, Amendola's fantasy value skyrockets with the deal. Provided he stays healthy for a full season, Amendola could have his first 100-reception, 1,000-yard season.
