Greg Jennings, Vikings agree to 5-year deal
Prior to the start of the free-agency period, the Vikings traded away its leading receiver, Percy Harvin, to the Seahawks for picks in this and next year's draft including their 2013 first-rounder.
To partly fill the void, the Vikings have signed Greg Jennings to a five-year contract worth up to $47.5 million, of which $18 million is guaranteed, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Jennings spent most of last season dealing with injuries and therefore finished with only 36 receptions for 366 yards in only eight games, all of which were career lows. For the first time in his career, Jennings averaged less than 14 yards per reception with a career-low 10.2 average.
If you're a glass-half-full guy, Jennings will clearly be the team's top receiving option and should see his targets increase. Provided he stays healthy, Jennings should set a career high in targets. If you're a glass-half-empty guy, it will be Christian Ponder (or perhaps Matt Cassel) throwing those extra passes his way.
