Shonn Greene agrees to 3-year deal with Titans
With the Jets last year, Shonn Greene rushed for 1,063 yards, which ranked him 14th in the NFL last season.
After agreeing to a deal with the Titans earlier today, Greene is now off the market. Greene and the Titans agreed to a three-year deal worth $10 million, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
If one thing is clear, it's that Greene will no longer be the guy that nobody likes but is an under-the-radar 1,000-yard rusher. Well, folks will still dislike the underwhelming Greene, but he certainly won't rush for 1,000 yards.
Of the 16 1,000-yard rushers last season, none of them averaged fewer yards per carry than Greene (3.85). Cincinnati's BenJarvus Green-Ellis was the only other 1,000-yard rusher to average fewer than 4.0 yards per carry (3.94) last season.
Yesterday, Chris Johnson fantasy owners should have celebrated the addition of guard Andy Levitre as the Titans interior offensive line was in serious need of an upgrade (or upgrades). Today, those same owners should be disappointed that the addition of Greene will take touches away from CJ1K.
When I update my fantasy rankings later this month, I will move Johnson down a bit in my rankings.
