Justin Blackmon suspended for four games
As a rookie last season, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon saw his NFL career get off to a rocky start. Not only was he arrested for DUI shortly after the 2012 draft, but he was also the last first-round pick to sign a contract and he failed to reach 50 receiving yards in eight of his first nine games.
Then things turned around for Blackmon, who had 615 receiving yards in his final seven games of the season. Only Andre Johnson (1,001), Calvin Johnson (990) and Dez Bryant (792) had more during that span.
Despite ending last season on a positive note, Blackmon's season will get off to a worse start than he had last year.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL has suspended Blackmon for the first four games of the NFL season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
While Blackmon will be eligible to practice and play in preseason games, he won't make his regular-season debut until the Jaguars face the Rams in Week 5 on October 6th.
