Keenan Allen red-flagged for drug test at the combine
Three strikes and you're out ... of the first round, at least?
Ex-Cal wide receiver Keenan Allen has had a longer-than-expected recovery from the knee injury that knocked him out of the final three regular-season games last year and also prevented him from working out at the combine and his school's pro day.
At his own individual pro day last week, he was clocked at 4.71 and 4.75 and was still at less than 100 percent.
Considering he was never viewed as a speed burner, the bigger concern is more that he is still not 100 percent than it was running a time similar to Anquan Boldin, a player to whom he is often compared.
Earlier today, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Allen was "red-flagged for a drug test at scouting combine in Indy and retested this month." Per Schefter, Allen has been re-tested this month although the results are not yet known.
As you would expect, Allen's agent has denied that his client failed a drug test at the combine.
In my latest mock draft, I have Allen going to the Bengals in the second round.
