Dennis Pitta (hip) out for the season

The news continues to get worse when it comes to the dislocated hip injury Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta suffered today in training camp.

Initially the Ravens announced that Pitta would miss the season opener against the Broncos, but now the report is that he will miss much more than that.

There have been reports that Pitta was already having surgery, which shows the seriousness of the injury. Now ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets that Pitta is expected to miss the entire season due to the injury.

Expecting a breakout season from Pitta before he sustained the injury, I had him ranked inside my top-five fantasy tight ends for 2013.

With the position losing Pitta and Aaron Hernandez (obviously due to very different reasons) this year and the five surgeries for Rob Gronkowski over the past nine months, my TE strategy has become crystal clear: Jimmy Graham early or wait as long as I can.
