NFL Poll: Will Steven Jackson score double-digit TDs in 2013?
Playing in what has no longer been the Greatest Show on Turf, Steven Jackson has been an extremely productive back without a very talented supporting cast.
Beginning with his second NFL season (2005), Jackson started what is now an eight-year streak of 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
In his third season, he had one of the greatest seasons ever for a running back: 1,528 rushing yards, 90 receptions, 806 receiving yards and 16 total touchdowns.
Since then, however, he has failed to score double-digit touchdowns ever again, which has suppressed his fantasy value despite his consistency from a yardage standpoint. Over the past six seasons, he has only 34 total touchdowns.
Going into his age-30 season, Jackson now has a much-improved supporting cast as he signed a free-agent deal with the Falcons in the offseason.
A less talented runner than Jackson, Michael Turner has rushed for double-digit touchdowns in each of the past five seasons, all of which were with the Falcons.
Now that Jackson has replaced Turner, will he end his personal drought of double-digit touchdowns? And in turn extend the streak of a Falcons running back with double-digit scores?
